Updated: Jan 8, 2024

It's that time of year - when gift giving is in full swing. Don't stress, I've got you covered. When it comes to someone who loves to eat, and cook, it's easy to give gifts that foster good health.  From the latest gadgets to DIY meal kits, there’s a gift for every food connoisseur.

If you’re feeling stuck, this post containes a few of my favorites (note: these are not affiliate links, just some of my personal recommendations).

Without further adue, here is my 2023 Healthy Holiday Gift Guide for Foodies:

Spices on spoon

Unique Seasoning and Spices

If you know someone who loves cooking and experimenting, they will enjoy this gift. Head to the store and create a unique gift basket with a variety of herbs and flavors. Check out these rubs from Spiceology.

Tea

Loose Tea with Strainer and Tea Mug

For someone who loves tea, of course, or who is trying to quit coffee. I love the variety at the MarketSpice Tea in Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA. If your friend loves coffee like me, an assortment of beans from different roasteries is another quick gift idea.

Spiralizer making zoodles.

Spiralizer

It can be hard to get your family to eat healthier. With a spiralizer, you can turn everything from zucchini to sweet potatoes into noodles. Help your friend get their kids to eat more vegetables. 🙂

Home made bread on cutting board.

Bread Machine

From a simple $30 machine to a $300 luxe machine, you can find bread machines to meet any budget.  Baking bread at home provides a fun activity and is more nutritious using all whole ingredients with no preservatives.

French fries in bowl.

Airfryer

Everyone gets cravings for crispy fried food. But when you're trying to eat healthier, you know to steer clear. That's why this trendy kitchen gadget is still going strong. Air fryers use air instead of oil to give food the crispy texture normally associated with fast food. If they’ve already got everything else in the kitchen, this could be fun to try.

Hands chopping jalepenos

Gift card to DIY Meal Kit Subscription

Got a friend who is tight on time but enjoys fresh meals? This is great for someone with a new baby (or two) at home. They send you everything you need to whip up a delicious and healthy meal in no time. There are plenty of options like Blue Apron and Hello Fresh that bring the ingredients right to your door.

Pantry food in jars.

Glass storage

Glass storage lasts a lifetime in comparison to today’s plastic alternatives. It’s also safer for reheating leftovers, and much more sturdy. Storage brand Pyrex is time tested. Find some holiday bows to decorate glass items and you’ll have a beautiful gift in no time.

Mesh grocery bag with food inside.

Reusable bags

Seems like there is a reusable bag for everything these days. A good way to cut down on waste, grab a canvas tote for the grocery store or farmers market, mesh produce bags or cleanable snack bags.

Assorted salads in bowls

Meal Delivery for the Non-chef

For a friend who wants to eat healthier but doesn’t like to cook, a giftcard for premade meals from a service like Hungry Root and Daily Harvest would make a great gift. They won’t even have to lift a finger to eat healthfully.

Person reading cookbook.

A New Cookbook

It seems like there is a new cook book published every day! This can be a great way to branch out with new cuisines, and with no shortage of inspiration, this is something your friend can use all year round. Some of our favorites are from America's Test Kitchen and Milk Street's Tuesday Nights.
